SPOKANE, Wash., Sept. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- (NASDAQ: RDFN) -- Redfin (www.redfin.com), the next-generation real estate brokerage, today announced the debut of its home-buying and selling services in Spokane, Washington and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. With a mission to reinvent real estate in the consumer's favor, Redfin pairs personal service from Redfin agents with technology to create a better home-buying and selling experience that costs less.
Spokane homebuyers can now use Redfin's industry-leading website and iOS and Android app to search all the agent-listed homes for sale, receive instant updates on their smartphone the moment a new home hits the market and book home tours with Redfin agents with the click of a button. Buyers who purchase with a Redfin agent receive a part of the commission back at closing.
Home sellers can sell with a Redfin agent for a 1.5 percent listing fee, subject to a minimum of $4,500. Redfin agents provide a complete home-selling service including pricing and home preparation advice, free professional photography, a 3D virtual tour and digital marketing. A homeowner selling a $300,000 home would save $4,500 working with a Redfin agent compared to an agent who charges a 3 percent fee.
In addition to its technology, what sets Redfin apart from other brokerages is that its agents are employees of the company who are paid a salary and earn bonuses based in part on customer satisfaction. Customer reviews for Redfin agents are published on their online profiles.
Michelle Kendrick is Redfin's lead agent in the region and is ready to start working with buyers and sellers. Kendrick has been in the real estate industry for over a decade and with Redfin since 2012. She recently relocated to Spokane from Seattle.
"Redfin has been getting requests to open in Spokane for years, so I'm honored to plant the Redfin flag in the Inland Northwest," said Kendrick. "This area offers natural beauty and outdoor adventure, affordable real estate, a thriving job market and a high quality of life, so it's no surprise that the area is growing rapidly as people discover its charms."
With Redfin's search tools, Spokane and Coeur d'Alene homebuyers will now have access to the most up-to-date information about homes for sale, neighborhood insights and real estate market conditions.
"Having recently searched for a home in Spokane for my own family's move, I know that buyers will love the search experience on Redfin," said Kendrick. "No other site is as comprehensive or up-to-date about homes for sale as Redfin, plus we make it simple to save a search and schedule a tour."
Paul Reid, a long-time Redfin leader who launched Redfin in Boise, Idaho last year, will oversee Redfin operations in Spokane and Coeur d'Alene as market manager. "Given Washington is Redfin's home state, we've had our sights set on Spokane for a long time. Especially with the number of Redfin fans from Seattle and other markets who are moving to Spokane, we see a great opportunity to grow our local business and serve both long-time residents and new arrivals," said Reid.
With the launch of Redfin come a host of technology features that benefit both website users and brokerage clients:
- Book It Now: Ability to instantly schedule a home tour with a Redfin agent with a single click from a browser, iPhone, iPad or Android app.
- Redfin Estimate: A highly-accurate calculation of the market value of an individual home.
