Teamsters President Jim Hoffa to address labor issues during the presidential campaign, Sept. 13

WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- James P. Hoffa, president of the Teamsters, will talk about the prospects for the country's workforce and what the government should do to boost American workers, at a National Press Club Speakers Luncheon on Sept. 13. Mr. Hoffa, who grew up on picket lines and in union meetings, will address the economy, labor and presidential politics in a speech titled, "Defining Patriotism: Protecting America and the American workforce."

Mr. Hoffa, a labor attorney from Detroit, is serving his fourth term as the union's president and on March 19 he will surpass his father, James R. Hoffa, to become the second-longest serving president in the 110-year history of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Only Dan Tobin, who served from 1907 to 1952, has held office longer.

The Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 2 p.m. Advance reservations should be made through (202) 662-7501 or [email protected].
