Teamster Solid Waste Local Unions Offer Support to Seattle Sanitation Workers
Unanimous Solidarity Vote Sends Message to Waste Management
SEATTLE, April 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Representatives from Teamster local unions from across the country met today in Seattle to discuss the ongoing labor dispute between Waste Management and area sanitation workers. At the meeting union leaders voted unanimously to support Seattle sanitation workers' efforts to win a fair contract.

"We are here to support our brothers and sisters at Waste Management," said Bob Morales, Director of the Teamsters Waste Division. "We aren't ruling anything out. We are going to explore all our legal options, but most importantly we want to give Seattle sanitation workers our moral support and whatever material support we can give them."
Teamster representatives from around the country participated in the meeting. The union represents more than 32,000 workers in the solid waste (trash hauling, recycling, etc.) industry in the U.S.
