KNOXVILLE, Tenn., June 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TeamHealth Holdings Inc. (NYSE: TMH), a leading provider of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals, today announced a strategic partnership with Carena Inc., a Seattle, Washington-based telemedicine solutions company.
Through this strategic partnership, TeamHealth will use Carena's technology-enabled virtual delivery system for TeamHealth-affiliated physicians to provide real-time, two-way communication and staffing for TeamHealth-affiliated advanced practice clinicians at a different location. TeamHealth will implement the virtual clinical staffing program for three of its service lines: Urgent Care, Hospital Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
"TeamHealth's strategic partnership with Carena underscores our commitment to offering innovative solutions for today's healthcare challenges," said Michael D. Snow, president and CEO of TeamHealth. "Our strategic partnership with TeamHealth aligns with Carena's mission to redefine healthcare by changing how providers deliver care," said Ralph C. Derrickson, president and CEO of Carena. "We look forward to collaborating with TeamHealth's operational leaders and clinicians to launch this new approach to clinic staffing that will make great medical care more accessible to individuals and families."
