TeamHealth Names Medical Directors of the Year

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TeamHealth today announced the winners of its 2011 Medical Director of the Year award. Selected by TeamHealth's Medical Advisory Board, ten individuals were honored for excellence in physician leadership.

Eight of the honorees are emergency department directors who were selected from more than 400 of their peers working in TeamHealth client emergency departments across the country. TeamHealth also honored a Medical Director of the Year for TeamHealth Hospital Medicine, selecting a physician from among 63 hospital medicine medical directors and assistant medical directors in 19 states. The Medical Director of the Year for TeamHealth Anesthesia was chosen from among 46 anesthesia medical directors and assistant medical directors in 15 states.

• Christopher L. Langan, M.D., medical director of the emergency department at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble, Texas
• Joanne E. Lapetina, M.D., medical director of the emergency department at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk, Va.
• Martin D. McBee, D.O., medical director of the emergency department at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.
• Timothy E. Page, M.D., medical director of the emergency department at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, N.Y.
• Burt Puckett Wall, M.D., medical director of the hospital medicine program at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston, Ga.
• Jeffrey A. Weiss, D.O., medical director of the anesthesia program at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
• David P. Wilcher, D.O., medical director of the emergency department at Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City, Fla.
• Mussaret A. Zuberi, M.D., medical director of the emergency department at Obleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio
