TeamHealth Hospital Medicine Names Chief Medical Officer
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TeamHealth announces the appointment of Daniel Virnich, MD, MBA, as chief medical officer for TeamHealth Hospital Medicine (THHM), one of the largest providers of outsourced hospitalist staffing solutions in the nation. In his new role, effective Oct. 1, Dr. Virnich will be responsible for the clinical effectiveness of THHM programs and will play a key role in the organization's clinical integration efforts. Dr. Virnich previously served as a regional medical director for THHM's west division.

Dr. Virnich received his medical degree from the University of Chicago where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha and completed his residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. He continued his education at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., where he earned his Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in finance. Dr. Virnich is a member of both the national Practice Management Committee and the Patient Experience Task Force for the Society of Hospital Medicine. He is based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
