Team Rubicon to Hold 2015 Salute to Service Awards
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Team Rubicon, an international disaster response organization, will hold its annual Salute to Service Awards to honor the following individuals for their commitment to furthering the organization's humanitarian mission:
Rob Riggle, U.S. Marine (ret), actor and comedian – the Distinguished Advocate Award for the supporter who uses his or her voice to tirelessly advocate for military veterans. Best known for work on The Daily Show and in The Hangover, Rob served 23 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and has traveled to Iraq with the USO.
William "TJ" Porter, a 13-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force – the Clay Hunt Spirit of Service Award, given to the veteran-volunteer who most exhibits the "service above self" mentality that characterized Clay's life. TJ led teams during numerous operations including the 2015 floods in Texas and South Carolina.
Todd Adrian, a 6-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard – the Veteran of the Year Award, given to the volunteer who has most exuded the characteristics of an American Veteran. Todd has served in multiple leadership roles, and under his guidance Region II completed 100+ engagements and service projects.
Kyle Doyon, Captain of the West Michigan Search and Rescue Team – the Downrange Award, given to the volunteer who, while on a mission, best displayed the standard of professionalism, grit and mission accomplishment that embodies Team Rubicon. In 2015, Kyle was the Incident Commander following tornadoes in Delkalb County, Illinois.
Jenna Brandolini, Pediatric and critical care RN – the Civilian Service Award, given to the civilian volunteer who best displayed a passion for bettering Team Rubicon through service. Jenna deployed on operations following Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, earthquakes in Nepal and tornadoes in Moore, Oklahoma.
Farmers Insurance – the Veteran Advocacy Award, given to an organization that displays an ongoing and steadfast commitment to championing veterans' issues. Farmers stands out in supporting transitioning military members through internal networking and support programs and veteran managers who help translate military experience into gainful employment.
Team Rubicon unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams, while offering veterans the opportunity to continue their service and regain a sense of purpose, community and identity.
