SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Autonet Mobile, an application and connectivity platform for vehicles, is tapping Hollywood connections to take part in the AutoWeek Magazine America Adventure rally, October 26 – November 1, 2011. Team Autonet Mobile, consisting of company CEO Sterling Pratz and television personality Christopher Knight, better known as middle brother Peter Brady of the Brady Bunch, will share driving duties for more than 1000 miles from Seattle to SEMA in Las Vegas to raise money for EPATT (East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring). Dodge has donated the 2012 Dodge Charger that Team Autonet Mobile will drive.
Pratz and Knight are competing against 29 other teams taking part in the America Adventure. They will be raising money and awareness for EPATT's, which provides at-risk students with game-changing programs and has been nationally recognized as a model of change for tennis and academic programs around the country.
Each car participating in the America Adventure will be equipped with Autonet Mobile and its new fleet tracking system, allowing anyone to follow all of the action during the rally. By logging on to www.theamericaadventure.com, they will be able to get real-time location, route history and vehicle speed for each participating team.
"The America Adventure embodies Autonet Mobile's spirit – a love of cars, a commitment to our communities and using new technologies inside the car," said Autonet Mobile CEO Sterling Pratz. "Chris and I are excited to hit the road together and take part, alongside the other teams."
The America Adventure is a proud supporter of the Graham Rahal Foundation and participants in the rally will also be raising funds and awareness for this important charity. The foundation picks up where the late Paul Newman left off - supporting children with medical conditions. Proceeds donated to the Graham Rahal Foundation are split equally between two organizations: Alex's Lemonade Stand and the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps.
About the Adventure
The 2011 AutoWeek America Adventure is a new road-rally in which teams of two solve clues and complete missions to navigate the correct route and earn points. Each evening of the seven-day event concludes with the team that has the most points earned during the day winning a car key. On Day Seven, the event finishes on the Mopar sound stage at the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) convention in Las Vegas, where a special-edition Mopar will be waiting. Those who win the seven keys will each have a chance to start the car. The team whose key starts the engine will take home this one-of-a-kind collector car.
