Every day, in communities across the country, America's great teachers put their hearts and souls into the important work of educating our youth. We believe these teachers deserve the encouragement, support, and training they need to be great in inspiring our children. The future of our country depends on it.
Here are three simple steps that you can take now:
- Volunteer: Share your story. Sharing your story will help inspire others and recognize the teachers who really make an impact. Read others' stories here. From "crazy is good" to learning about languages and the world around us, these stories celebrate the best teachers. Or, choose an area education-related charity and help a teacher in the classroom.
- Advocate: Tell us what you think. What aspirations do you have for your children? Then, see one of these education-related documentaries and get inspired to take action to support great teachers.
- Give: Donate to the United Way NCA. Teachers need children and youth to enter school ready to learn. Help United Way NCA support children and youth in achieving their potential. No matter how much you choose to give, your donation to the United Way can help improve, transform, and even save lives in our region.
Whether it's through giving, advocating, or volunteering, you can make a difference in the national capital area. Great teachers help secure our children's futures and our nation's success. And, they need our support. Please take action today.
