TE Connectivity's CDFP Connectors, Cages and Cable Assemblies Now Deliver Faster Speeds with Greater Flexibility
Products Support Up To 400 Gbps Per Port
HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, today announced that its CDFP connectors and cages now bring up to 28 gigabit per second (Gbps) data rates and new levels of flexibility to designers of high-speed networking systems and subsystems. In addition, a new range of customizable CDFP cable assemblies supports PCIe Gen 3 (8 Gbps) system requirements.
TE's CDFP portfolio enables one of the highest port and bandwidth densities of any pluggable I/O on the market. With 16 channels of up to 28 gigabit per second (Gbps) data rates for 400 Gbps total bandwidth, CDFP products can easily handle the market's increasing data usage. The simple one-piece, press-fit pluggable input/output (I/O) assembly provides the flexibility and standardization to address many design needs and is attractive for high-speed networking applications such as routers, high performance computing (HPC) systems, storage, controller cards, servers, and network interface cards (NICs). In addition, TE's CDFP portfolio enables more efficient use of space.
"As manufacturers roll out faster and faster systems, they need standardized connectivity components they can rely on to deliver the speed and design flexibility necessary for innovation," said Lucas Benson, product manager at TE Connectivity. "Our engineering teams are focused on developing future-minded solutions for the continuously increasing, always-on, data-driven world. The CDFP portfolio delivers high port and bandwidth densities while saving space to give designers a solution for the next generation of products."
