IRVING, Texas, May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Legends Sales & Marketing, a subsidiary of Legends Hospitality Holding Company LLC, has been retained by TDI to conduct a sponsorship analysis for the Irving Entertainment Center (IEC). Legends is co-owned by the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees and two private equity firms, Goldman Sachs and Checketts Partners Investment Fund.
"The IEC is a very exciting venue for Texas," said Chad Estis, President of Legends Sales & Marketing. "We look forward to working with TDI and feel our industry experience and market knowledge will be very beneficial as we evaluate the sponsorship opportunities for the project."
"The IEC will fill a void for entertainment and dining in the Las Colinas Urban Center," said David Margulies, spokesperson for TDI. "Experts say the IEC will create thousands of new jobs and spur new development that will enhance Irving's commercial tax base and generate tax revenues to support services throughout Irving."
"TDI has placed a new proposal before the City Council that will substantially increase private investment in the IEC and reduce the City's investment in the project," said Margulies. "This is the last step in a process that will allow work to begin on what is otherwise a shovel ready project with plans and construction contracts in place."
About the Irving Entertainment Center
The IEC was approved by a 66 percent vote as part of a complex that included the Irving Convention Center. Economists report that the IEC will produce sizable economic and fiscal benefits for the City. The construction of the project will generate $400 million in economic activity, create more than 2,700 jobs, increase tax revenues, reverse the decline in property values and vacancies in the Las Colinas Urban Center, and spur new development. The annual economic impact of the IEC will generate $300 million/year and 4,000 jobs. The IEC will include a seating- and stage-flexible theater than can accommodate up to 8,000 people plus 16 themed restaurants and nightlife venues enhancing the attractiveness of the Las Colinas Urban Center as a place to live, work, and play.
