The eight nominations TD garners include the top prize of the grand prix for best overall investor relations by a large-cap company, as well as best investor relations officer, best IR by a CEO and best IR by a CFO.
At the IR Magazine Awards – Canada 2013, TD will face formidable competition from CN – the second-most nominated company with six nominations, as well as Rogers Communications and PotashCorp, with four nominations each. Together, these four companies are in contention for the grand prix for best overall investor relations – large cap.
Among the mid-cap companies, the competition is just as fierce. Alamos Gold (two nominations), ARC Resources (five nominations), Baytex Energy (six nominations) and Bombardier (four nominations) all contend for the grand prix for best overall relations – mid-cap.
Dundee REIT, Genivar (five nominations), Torex Gold Resources and WesternOne Equity (three nominations) round out the short lists for the grand prix for best overall relations – small cap.
The IR Magazine Awards – Canada 2013 are the result of intensive and painstaking research to identify the best IR in Canada's public companies and to provide a window into the thinking of IR's most important audience: the investment community. From a representative sample, weighted for Canada's industry sectors, researchers conducted in-depth interviews with 250 portfolio managers and analysts across Canada. The company with the highest score in a particular award category is declared the winner. Furthermore, the 50 companies with the highest combined score tallies are listed in the IR Magazine Canada Top 50 ranking.
The IR Magazine Awards – Canada 2013 are sponsored by Broadridge, CNW, CST Phoenix Advisors, The Globe and Mail, Laurel Hill, Marketwire, The Works Design Communications and TMX Group. Winners will be announced on February 6, 2013 in an award ceremony in Toronto.
