POWERS LAKE, Wis. and DURHAM, N.C., Dec. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Pharmacy packaging and automation provider TCGRx, a portfolio company of Frazier Healthcare Partners, today announced the acquisition of Parata Systems. Established leaders in medication adherence packaging and high speed automated robotic dispensing technologies, TCGRx and Parata have combined to create a new market leader focused on providing pharmacy technology solutions that support business growth, better health outcomes and lower medical costs.
Together, TCGRx and Parata currently have more than 4,500 medication adherence packagers, inspection systems and vial-filling robots installed in retail, long term care, hospital, government and mail order pharmacies throughout North America. In addition to these pharmacy automation technologies, the company will expand on their existing growth initiatives with central fill, inventory control and automated blister card packaging technologies to meet the broad needs of their pharmacy customers.

The combined company will operate under the Parata Systems brand and will be headquartered in Durham, North Carolina with additional facilities in southern Wisconsin. Current TCGRx CEO Rob Kill will lead the combined organization, and Duane Chudy will serve as Vice Chairman with the remainder of the leadership team drawn from the executive teams of both companies.
Former Parata CEO, D.J. Dougherty, has chosen to pursue other career interests.
