NEWARK, Del., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cognition Group (TCG) has officially announced the hiring of Anthony H. Risser, Ph.D. as Senior Director of Scientific Affairs and Operations.

Dr. Risser has over 23 years of professional experience as a Clinical Neuropsychologist. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Victoria and completed his postgraduate fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin Medical School-Milwaukee Clinical Campus. He also completed a mid-career senior fellowship at the Univ. of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He has been a visiting professor at the Univ. of Houston, a visiting scientist at the Hospital of the Univ. of Pennsylvania, and a Project Director at the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute in Philadelphia.
Dr. Risser's Scientific Affairs/ CNS work in industry as an external consultant, a member of a global CRO, and a member of a specialty CNS company has included protocol-development related to efficacy and screening neurobehavioral scales, computerized cognitive scales, patient-reported outcome (PRO) instruments, feasibility, subject recruitment/retention, investigator/site relationship management, scientific/medical writing, and teamed capabilities & new-business services with Business Development. CNS therapeutic areas of experience include Alzheimer's, chronic pain; sleep disorders, epilepsy, stroke, ADHD, mood disorders, neuro-oncology, and schizophrenia.
Dr. Risser has co-authored three textbooks in neuropsychology, published by Oxford University Press, as well as a number of other publications.
