TCEB boasts 'MICE Lane' -- A Facilitation and Ease of Doing Business for MICE Travellers in Thailand
BANGKOK, May 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization) or TCEB introduces 'MICE Lane' to provide ease of doing business for MICE travellers at Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The project, in collaboration with the Immigration Bureau and Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, aims to help uplift the Thai MICE industry by creating a unique differentiator and to increase Thailand's competitiveness in facilitating international MICE travellers. TCEB also encourages MICE event organisers to take advantage of the exclusive service, while reinforcing Thailand's positive image and strengthening the Kingdom's leadership position as a premiere regional MICE destination.
MICE Lane project at Suvarnabhumi Airport has been implemented for nearly five years, and facilitates international MICE travellers in four areas including 1) Immigration clearance via Premium Lanes; 2) Visa on arrival; 3) Health control; 4) Signage areas within the airport to promote MICE events. The reception counter for MICE travellers is located at the second floor of the passenger arrival hall, near baggage belt number 10 and 18, where MICE event organisers can set up roll-up banners or greeting signage. The MICE lane representatives in the newly and beautifully refreshed uniform will welcome and assist all travellers with the unique charm of Thainess. The parking spots are also provided for transportation. MICE travellers are able to save time and feel at ease throughout the expedited process, which is one of the deciding factors MICE event organisers consider when choosing Thailand as the host country.
Since its inception in October 2012, MICE Lane has helped ease more than 80,000 delegates through fast track service, as they arrived in Thailand for major MICE events such as the Rotary International Convention, FDI Annual World Dental Congress, Infinitus (China) Overseas Training, IT&CM Asia, and many more. A satisfaction survey by TCEB found that 94.14 percent of MICE travellers were satisfied with overall services including fast track immigration process, problem solving, and friendliness.
This year, among the major MICE events that will take advantage of the MICE Lane service are Infinitus (China) Overseas Training, from 13-23 May 2017; Herbalife Southeast Extravaganza, from 18-21 May 2017; Asian Utility Week 2017, from 24-25 May 2017; World Confederation for Physical Therapy: Asia Western Pacific and Physical Therapy Association of Thailand Congress 2017, from 28-30 June 2017; Unicity South Asia Mid-Year Recognition, from 13-15 July 2017; The 11th International Congress of the international Society for Hemodialysis 2017, from 2-5 August 2017; Jeunesse APAC Expo 2017, from 14-17 September 2017; and IT&CM Asia 2017 Trade Show, from 26-28 September 2017, which will attract more than 33,000 international MICE travellers to Thailand.
