VENICE, Calif., July 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Bird, the leader in last-mile electric mobility, today announced Taylor Rose joined as the company's Director of People. Rose, who previously led people programs for a range of early to late stage technology companies in San Francisco and Los Angeles, will create and lead a world-class human resources management program and will be part of Bird's executive team.
Rose joined Bird as one of its early employees and is committed to building an enduring culture that truly sets Bird apart. Advanced investment in Bird's talent and culture is a critical underpinning to the success and endurance of the company, and will ultimately push forward its mission of reducing the number of cars on the road and cutting carbon emissions in our cities.
"While we work to bring our innovative transportation solution to communities across the country, we're also bringing in more talented minds to cultivate and promote a mission-focused culture," said Travis VanderZanden, founder and CEO of Bird. "The strength of any company starts with the people who build it. Taylor's experience will ensure that Bird's values are infused throughout the company so every employee can fully participate in its evolution today and as we expand."
Rose first gained experience in human resources at a boutique firm helping tech companies recruit top talent in San Francisco. Taylor has spent the last six years building people programs for startups in the Los Angeles area. At Bird, Taylor is at the tip of the spear in creating the foundation for Bird's people ethos.
"It is thrilling to be part of shaping a company that is leading the movement to redefine transportation while also redefining what it means to foster a supportive, mission-minded workplace," said Rose. "We are creating a 'culture co-op' here at Bird — where values are infused into the DNA of the company and every person is empowered to contribute to its evolution."
As Bird grows so too does Rose's team, revealing the company's "people first" commitment. Since she joined Bird, Rose has grown the People Team to now include ten employees.
