Taylor Morrison Brings "Made in America" Merchandised Home to Houston Featuring Almost Entirely American-Made Interior Design

HOUSTON, July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Taylor Morrison, a leading national homebuilder and developer, is debuting a new project that has the stars and stripes stamped all over it.

The homebuilder has chosen to feature the unique designs of American manufacturers and craftspeople with its distinct homebuilding concept, the "Made in America" merchandised model home in Houston.

The home, which debuts on July 11, will have the same genuine quality and design as the other Taylor Morrison homes throughout the U.S. but with one, distinct difference, the interior design of the home, everything from furniture to accessories, will be almost entirely American-made.

"Everything used to decorate the home will be American made, from the wood and upholstery of the dining chairs to the rugs on the floor," said Jonathan White, president of Taylor Morrison's Houston division. "We worked with companies from Houston and around the nation to showcase all of the amazing American products available to today's homebuyers."

Taylor Morrison worked with Millennium Designs Inc. to find companies that make American products to showcase in the home.

Each company included specializes in a different aspect of home furnishings and design, and all have put time and energy into making their contributions truly special.

People who visit this unique home will see products that exhibit the beauty and quality of American engineering and craftsmanship in such furnishings and accessories.

Among the specially chosen products are custom furniture, upholstery and fabrics, a specialty billiards table, custom-made rugs, carpets and cabinets, an indoor basketball hoop and much more.

Taylor Morrison and the contributing companies have become part of a movement, not just a commercial production line. Kim Heacock, Vice President and third-generation owner of International Billiards Inc., applauded the project.

"I think the project is bringing to light the fact that, just by looking around a bit, American buyers can support American businesses and buy amazing products they can be proud to own," Heacock said.

International Billiards is providing a one-of-a-kind billiards table for the "Made in America" home, manufactured to accommodate all-American production.

The selected companies are not only considered experts in their craft; many represent a direct link to America's manufacturing heritage, existing for generations.

One of the powerhouses in the fabric industry, Kravet Fabrics, has been around for 96 years. The fifth-generation company's expertise is well known, and Taylor Morrison's featured model home will have specialty fabric by Kravet sourced from American material.

"America is a great resource for textiles and wood, two important elements in fabric and furniture manufacturing, not to mention very skilled craftspeople," said Jennifer Powell, a communications manager at Kravet Fabrics. "Many of the factories we work with have been in business for generations, making fabric and furniture out of American-made materials with a true sense of pride and understanding of quality."

Visitors will also get to see this great quality of work throughout this special home from companies like Custom Furniture and Upholstery Manufacturing, contributing beautiful, custom-made upholstered furniture, and JustinTymeSports providing one of their famous mini basketball hoops with a custom design especially developed for Taylor Morrison's Made in America merchandised home.

The other contributors to the "Made in America" merchandised home are Heine's Custom Draperies, M & M Carpet Showroom, Custom Furniture and Cabinets, Robert Allen and Advanced Milling Concepts.

Although the stars and stripes will not be visible, nearly every product inside the home will represent a small piece of America's history and future.
