JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --  TaxSlayer.com President and CEO Jimmy Rhodes and President Rick Catlett and the Board of Trustees of Gator Bowl Sports announced today that a six year agreement has been reached to rename the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl to the TaxSlayer Bowl beginning with the 2015 Bowl game.

This extended partnership enabled the Bowl to negotiate long term Conference and Television agreements.  Beginning in 2015, the TaxSlayer Bowl will be televised on ESPN and will feature a team from the Southeastern Conference that will serve as the anchor team and will face an opponent from the Big Ten Conference or the Atlantic Coast Conference which also includes the University of Notre Dame. The Title Sponsor, Television and Conference agreements are for 6 years beginning with the 2015 Bowl game.
