Thirteen days later on February 10, 2001, Ludlum was severely burned in a suspicious fire while sitting in his recliner at his luxurious Enclave home in Naples, Florida. Thirty days later Robert Ludlum was dead. Before an autopsy could be performed, his body is whisked off to the Naples Crematorium.
