Tasting Table and Williams-Sonoma Present the Sous Chef Series
A Collaboration to Produce a Monthly Series Spotlighting Up-and-Coming Chefs Through an Interactive Online and In-Store Program
NEW YORK, Jan. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tasting Table, the free daily epicurean email about restaurants, bars, wine stores and cooking shops; and Williams-Sonoma, a member of the Williams-Sonoma, Inc. portfolio of brands; announces the launch of the Sous Chef Series, a collaboration that will produce a monthly series and interactive website that spotlight the rising stars behind America's top chefs.
SousChefSeries.com, the monthly newsletter and co-branded website that debuted on January 20, now enables Tasting Table members and Williams-Sonoma customers to get a behind-the-scenes look at the up-and-coming chefs at America's most highly regarded restaurants. The website features exclusive monthly recipes, a custom web video, suggested cooks' tools and kitchen accessories, and a shopping list. To bring the series to life, all Williams-Sonoma stores across the U.S. will host a live demonstration of the featured dish following each new recipe release. Tasting Table emails contain a button to register for a free recipe demonstration at the nearest Williams-Sonoma store on the following Saturday at noon local time, complete with recipe cards and samples.
"We are thrilled to be working with Williams-Sonoma on this groundbreaking program," says Nick Fauchald, Tasting Table's editor in chief. "Food lovers are already familiar with the big-name leaders of the industry, like Wolfgang Puck and Tom Colicchio, but behind each great chef is the next generation of talent. Every headlining chef was once a protege, and the Sous Chef Series is a celebration of those dedicated, emerging women and men."
"We're excited about the collaboration with Tasting Table on the Sous Chef Series, and the opportunities it brings to offer new and resourceful editorial content to our customers that we can also replicate in our stores," said Richard Harvey, president of Williams-Sonoma. "Williams-Sonoma is always looking for innovative ways to bring fresh, original content to our customers. We recognize that there is a wealth of talent and culinary innovation that comes from sous chefs, and we want to bring this to our customers to learn from and enjoy."
Everyone is invited to claim a free Tasting Table subscription at SousChefSeries.com. All recipes in the series have been thoroughly tested and adapted for the home cook, and will arrive in members' in-boxes one Wednesday each month.
The first recipe of the series will be provided by Chef James Tracey of Tom Colicchio's Craft in New York. Future sous chefs contributing to the program include: Chef Christopher Bradley of Michael Anthony's Gramercy Tavern in New York; Chef Sara Johannes of Wolfgang Puck's WP24 in Los Angeles; Chef Joshua Whigham of Jose Andres' Bazaar in Los Angles; and Chef Sarah Gruenberg of Tony Mantuano's Spiaggia in Chicago.
