Austin provides access to rich entrepreneurial community as Tasktop continues rapid growth
AUSTIN, Texas, and DALLAS, Aug. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- (Agile2012 Conference) -- Tasktop Technologies (tasktop.com), creator of Eclipse Mylyn and the leader for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) integration, today announced it has opened a new office in Austin, Texas, a top city for technology companies recognized by Kiplinger and Forbes for business growth. During the past year, Tasktop has experienced rapid, organic growth due to strong demand for its task management and ALM integration solutions, its ongoing technical innovation and continued industry leadership. The new office will provide Tasktop with additional resources within one of the hottest technology communities in the industry.
"Expanding our presence with a new office in Austin complements our mission of connecting the world of software delivery while maintaining the cultural norms of working hard, playing hard, and seeking inspiration that have made Tasktop one of the best places to work in technology," said Neelan Choksi, president and COO for Tasktop. "The Austin technology community includes a unique blend of high energy, software start-ups and large ALM vendors that make it an ideal place to open a new office to help fuel our continued growth. We are excited to be part of the Austin landscape and look forward to giving back to this vibrant community through service and leadership."
Tasktop has achieved substantial success during the past 12 months. Major milestones include:
- Continued Growth – Driven by strong demand for the Tasktop Sync product for integration of ALM technologies and improving flow through the entire software delivery process, Tasktop has doubled both its revenues and number of staff, currently employing more than 45 people. It also bolstered its senior management team with the addition of Chief Product Officer Dave West, an expert on the software development and delivery lifecycle, former industry leading analyst with Forrester and author of the acclaimed book, "Head First Object-Oriented Analysis and Design." Tasktop continues to be bootstrapped and growing on revenues since its founding by Dr. Mik Kersten, Dr. Gail Murphy and Robert Elves in 2007.
- Thought Leadership – Tasktop continues to lead the industry in both technology and thought leadership. Kersten, West and Choksi are frequently published and quoted in leading industry publications on a variety of topics, including ALM Automation, Lean ALM, Open Source Business Models and Enterprise Agile strategies. Kersten served as a keynote at the recent EclipseCon conference and shared his industry perspective at IBM Innovate. Five different "Tasktopians" will be speaking at the upcoming JavaOne conference.
- Industry Recognition – Tasktop continues to receive industry accolades, including the AllianceONE Partner of the Year Award from HP and "On the Radar" recognition for innovation from research firm Ovum. It also received the well-respected 2012 BCTIA Technology Impact Award as Emerging Company of the Year and "Best Employer" at the recent 8th Annual Small Business British Columbia Successful You Awards.
- Tasktop Technical Partners – Tasktop helps the biggest names in software development to integrate their respective product suites, adding significant value for customers. Tasktop recently created an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) version of Tasktop Dev embedded in HP ALM through HP Application Lifecycle Intelligence. Also, Tasktop recently created OEM versions of Tasktop Dev and Tasktop Sync for CA Technologies Agile Vision and Product Vision products. The Tasktop ecosystem continues to grow, with more than 14 partners and a Tasktop Certified program that now boasts more than 25 commercial and open source certified products, including IBM Rational Team Concert, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Borland StarTeam, ThoughtWorks Mingle, Accept 360 and many more.
Tasktop helps software organizations implement enterprise-wide Agile and ALM modernization initiatives by connecting both developers, through Tasktop Dev, and cross-functional enterprise teams, through Tasktop Sync, to automate the entire application lifecycle. All Tasktop products leverage the Eclipse Mylyn integration framework to provide a more strategic, standardized and scalable synchronization solution than typical point-to-point batch process integrations. Its tools provide visibility into ALM work flow, real-time data sharing of cross-function activities, and insight into actual performance and business value. IT organizations use Tasktop to synchronize and automate development processes to deliver market value quicker, reduce inefficiencies and promote collaboration and innovation by connecting individuals and teams across the enterprise.
