Tasktop and CA Technologies Partner to Create OEM Versions of Tasktop Dev and Tasktop Sync for Project and Portfolio Management
Solutions To Provide Centralized Reporting and Maximum Visibility Into Software Projects Across Multiple ALM Tools
VANCOUVER, British Columbia and ISLANDIA, N.Y., June 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Tasktop Technologies (www.tasktop.com) and CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) today announced an agreement to develop OEM versions of Tasktop Dev and Tasktop Sync for CA Technologies Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) solution. CA Technologies will resell Tasktop's technology with its CA Agile Vision™ and CA Product Vision product lines. The combined solution, with its real-time traceability and reporting capabilities, will help give CA Technologies PPM customers maximum visibility into software projects spanning multiple development management solutions.
"CA Technologies is a clear leader in managing the large-scale software lifecycle," said Mik Kersten, CEO of Tasktop Technologies and creator of the Eclipse Mylyn open source project. "This partnership underscores Tasktop's and CA Technologies mutual commitment to connecting software delivery from an integrated developer desktop to the cloud."
Tasktop Dev and Tasktop Sync will extend the functionality of CA Agile Vision and CA Product Vision by providing seamless integrations with third party Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions. This will enable development teams to communicate across tool boundaries while consolidating information residing in separate applications for unified project management reporting and visibility.
CA Agile Vision enables application delivery teams to become more customer-centric and deliver projects faster by providing better visibility into deliverables, costs and resources for all sprints and projects where collaboration is of the utmost importance. CA Product Vision gives business analysts, product managers, and CA Agile Vision users the ability to capture, plan and manage requirements as part of a project, keeping focus on what matters most to the customer.
"Organizations are under more pressure than ever to rigorously prioritize resources allocation so that they are consistently delivering the greatest possible value to the business and their customers at any given point in time," said Lokesh Jindal, senior vice president, Service and Portfolio Management, CA Technologies. "By complementing CA Technologies Project and Portfolio Management solution with Tasktop's ALM integration technology, this agreement will enable our customers to significantly improve their ability to fulfill this strategic imperative."
Tasktop continues to solve major challenges for software organizations that are implementing enterprise-wide Agile and ALM modernization initiatives by connecting both developers, through Tasktop Dev, and cross-functional enterprise teams, through Tasktop Sync, to automate the entire application lifecycle. All Tasktop products leverage the Eclipse Mylyn integration framework to provide a more strategic, standardized and scalable synchronization solution than typical point to point batch process integrations. Its tools provide visibility into ALM work flow, real-time data sharing of cross-function activities and insight into actual performance and business value. Tasktop helps IT organizations synchronize and automate development processes to deliver market value quicker, reduce inefficiencies and promote collaboration and innovation by connecting individuals and teams across the enterprise.
