CHANTILLY, Va., Nov. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TASC's board of directors has named John P. Hynes Jr. president and CEO of TASC, effective immediately. Hynes, who was promoted to chief operating officer (COO) of TASC in September 2012 succeeds David H. Langstaff.

Hynes worked at TASC from 1990 to 2001 and returned to the company in 2011 to become senior vice president of TASC's Defense and Civil Group. Before rejoining TASC, Hynes was senior vice president and general manager of SAIC's Mission Support Business Unit, and also served as president of ManTech's Security and Mission Assurance organization. He began his civilian career as an analyst at TASC, where he advanced to hold leadership positions, including program manager and business unit director.
Hynes served eight years in the U.S. Navy, where he was a naval aviator as well as a department head and analyst at the Naval Operational Intelligence Center. He earned a Bachelor of Science in economics at the U.S. Naval Academy and a master's in management information systems at George Washington University.
