PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TargetX, a leading provider of student lifecycle solutions for higher education, is proud to announce the winners of the "X Awards" for 2017. These clients were recognized at the 2017 TargetX Annual Summit along with the announcement of the company's bold new vision to reimagine the student experience, disrupt the status quo in higher education, and delight students throughout the recruitment, enrollment, and retention process.
"The X Awards are an opportunity for TargetX to honor clients who have taken our solutions to the next level," says Sasha Peterson, CEO of TargetX. "Higher education gets painted as an industry that still uses antiquated systems and tools, but increasingly, there are innovative colleges and universities stepping outside the box, and they are seeing the results in student yield and fit. The X Awards exalts those innovators and disruptors who have pushed themselves, and frankly, pushed us to be better."
The X Awards were given to three institutions under the theme of "Reimagining the Student Experience":
Towson University—Greater Baltimore's largest university was honored for its unwavering dedication to remove barriers in the graduate online application so that prospective students who rely on a screen reader can successfully apply to TU. This effort involved live screen reader testing to identify and remove blocks, consulting with vision-impaired students for user feedback, and partnering with TargetX to accomplish technical functionality.
"The effort to make TU systems accessible is about providing a productive and welcoming environment for the widest range of persons in our community. Every successful accessibility project increases access for some and productivity for many," says Matthew Wynd of Towson University's Office of Technology Services.
University of Texas, San Antonio—an emerging Tier 1 research institution serving nearly 29,000 students was honored for its work to leverage new innovations and educate the higher ed community on how the TargetX Recruitment Suite works seamlessly with Salesforce's Higher Education Data Architecture (HEDA).
"Being able to leverage Salesforce and all the innovations that come with the platform hand-in-glove with TargetX has been a huge help in our recruitment process," says Noe Vela, Information Technology Associate II at UTSA.
Western Connecticut State University—a public state university with four campuses serving more than 5,700 students was honored for exemplifying what it means to disrupt the status quo and delight students through its adoption of a complete nuts-to-bolts student lifecycle solution.
"TargetX provides solutions that are designed to meet the needs of students today, not yesterday," says Jay Murray, Associate Vice President for Enrollment at WCSU. "We really have been able to expand to new markets and engage students more effectively. I'm happy TargetX has been our partner in that."
The next round of X Awards will be presented in Nashville, TN at the 2018 TargetX Summit, July 16-17. For more information visit targetx.com/summit.
