Tapestry Solutions and Quantum3D Demonstrate Close Combat Simulator at HALO Counter-Terrorism Summit
ExpeditionDI Offers Fully-Immersive 3D Training Environment and Ensures Homeland Security Counter-Terrorism Advantage
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum3D, Inc., a leading provider of visual computing solutions for government and commercial applications, today announced it is participating with Tapestry Solutions to demonstrate ExpeditionDI – the industry's first self-contained, wearable close combat infantry simulator training platform – during the HALO Counter-Terrorism Summit in San Diego on Oct. 29 – Nov. 2, 2012. The HALO Summit provides a real-time counter-terrorism battle lab for all stakeholders in the national security construct and includes several different scenarios against current and relevant threats. Utilizing Quantum3D's ExpeditionDI, the training demonstrations are designed to help Homeland Security maintain its counter-terrorism advantage.
"ExpeditionDI is poised to dramatically change the way today's Homeland Security Forces train for current and future threats," said Arthur Yan, president of Quantum3D. "Participating with Tapestry Solutions to demonstrate the impact of ExpeditionDI during the HALO Summit underscores Quantum3D's commitment to provide elite immersive training platforms and our readiness to play a key role in the training of our Homeland Security Forces."
Designed to provide a realistic, immersive 3D training experience deployable on-base or in-theater for individual or squad-based training, as well as large scale joint training operations, ExpeditionDI is equipped with a high-resolution Head Mounted Display (HMD) and fully integrated wearable computing pack to respond simultaneously to multiple body and weapon movements. These advanced technologies will enable National Security stakeholders to move through and interact in a virtual environment while fighting and communicating as they would in a real-world combat situation. For added flexibility, ExpeditionDI is an open architecture platform for a limitless amount of virtual locations and training scenarios. During the HALO Summit, National Security stakeholders are immersed in "HALO Island," the location of the event.
ExpeditionDI is on demonstration throughout the HALO Counter-Terrorism Summit in San Diego on Oct. 29 – Nov. 2, 2012. For more information on ExpeditionDI, visit Quantum3D's website.
