Taos Ski Valley's Renaissance Continues with The Blake Residences
Planned residences offer ownership opportunity extending the award-winning The Blake at Taos Ski Valley hotel
TAOS, N.M., Jan. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Taos Ski Valley is undergoing a significant $300,000,000 renaissance that has delivered modern and thoughtful upgrades for the mountain resort while retaining its character, soul and spirit. Among these include new lifts, a renovated base area, new children's facilities, improved dining and event spaces, enhanced on-mountain infrastructure and, most notably, The Blake at Taos Ski Valley, a slopeside boutique hotel that is among the most highly rated in the world.
The next step in the evolution is announced today: The Blake Residences. When built, the project will include 24 slopeside condominium residences adjacent to The Blake that will offer stunning views and access to a variety of sophisticated amenities and services. Prices will begin at $1,100,000.
"For years we've had people asking for ownership opportunities so they can be more connected with this iconic property, the geography of our valley, the intimate scale and character of this resort," said David Norden, CEO of Taos Ski Valley. "We've been intentional about the size, details and services that will go into The Blake Residences. We know they will complement and enhance our revitalization efforts, and will offer homeowners an unparalleled resort experience year-round."
The Blake Residences are planned to begin construction in the spring of 2019 and be completed in 2020. The condominium building is planned to have commercial retail and dining spaces, and will have direct access to a new, planned convertible ice skating rink and summer performing arts lawn at the base of the ski area, as well as easy lift access.
In addition to its ideal location, the residence homeowners will have access to the pool, hot tubs, and fitness center of The Blake at Taos Ski Valley. Most importantly, though, is that owners will have access to the warm, friendly and helpful services of The Blake hausmeister team. The residences will come fully furnished and appointed inspired by the cultural influences of Northern New Mexico: Native American, Hispanic and European traditions. They are an extension of the hotel with a more contemporary interpretation, maintaining the tradition of craftsmanship in those cultures from Navajo-inspired weavings to craftsman-made furniture. Evident throughout is a sense of comfort and luxury giving the spaces a strong sense of place within a European Alpine environment. Another added benefit planned for homeowners is eligibility for special discounts on skiing, dining, activities and shopping.
"Everything we do at Taos is rooted in our purpose-driven, B-Corp ethic, which compels us to act with the utmost concern for our local community, our employees and partners and our natural eco-system. The Blake Residences will share those values. The property will have the same attention to energy and water consumption as the LEED-certified hotel, and will become a critical part of the continued economic development of the entire community, much like the recent investment in Taos Air. We see The Blake Residences as the next step in Taos Ski Valley's evolution to being among the best mountain destinations in the world," continued Norden.
