Taos Ski Valley Adds Chief Hospitality Officer
Steven Rose to oversee food and beverage, enhance guest service standards
TAOS SKI VALLEY, N.M., Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Taos Ski Valley has named Steven Rose as its new chief hospitality officer. Rose will oversee all food and beverage operations, the Bavarian Lodge & Restaurant (which TSV, Inc. acquired earlier this year) and the ski valley's central reservations program. Rose will also be responsible for enhancing guest service standards across all departments. In the future, Rose will incorporate all new lodging facilities into the ski valley's reservation system.
Rose brings a wealth of hospitality and tourism leadership experience to the position, which is new to Taos Ski Valley. Most recently, Rose worked as the vice president of resort operations at Honua Kai Resort & Spa in Maui, Hawaii. He has additionally worked in executive leadership roles across a host of other notable destinations, including working as the general manager at the Westin Monache Resort in Mammoth Lakes, California; the American Club at Destination Kohler in Kohler, Wisconsin and the Pines Lodge, a RockResort, in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
"We have a lot of exciting developments underway at Taos Ski Valley, all of which are aimed at enhancing the visitor experience. Our addition of the chief hospitality officer role is another step in that effort, and Steven will be a very important addition to our team," said Gordon Briner, CEO of Taos Ski Valley. "Steven's experience leading large-scale resort properties, many known for their guest service, will help us elevate our restaurant and lodging offerings as well as improve our reservations system – all inevitably improving the visitor experience in the ski valley."
In his new role, Rose will also be responsible for reviewing and updating the menus at some of Taos Ski Valley's restaurants, including Rhoda's, Tenderfoot Katie's and the Martini Tree, all of which are currently being renovated. Starting this winter season, visitors can expect more modern atmosphere and an even higher quality experience in these favorite establishments.
Rose, his wife Marcia and their Portuguese Water Dog will relocate to Taos from Hawaii. Rose will begin work October 27, 2014.
