Tanner Creek Energy Announces Renewable Energy Project for Heritage Seedlings

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Tanner Creek Energy, an energy solutions provider and general contractor announced today the completion of a 73.3  kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system which will lower the wholesale nursery's non-renewable energy consumption and help to reduce its carbon footprint.  

Heritage Seedlings, located in Salem, Oregon, is a propagator of unusual deciduous plant species.  Founded in 1983, Heritage is a family-owned business which has made environmental stewardship and resource conservation tenets of its operations.  Energy and resource conservation is what led the nursery to engage with Tanner Creek Energy of Portland.

The energy solution provider worked with Heritage management to analyze the energy usage of Heritage properties to identify energy efficiency opportunities and practices suitable to their nursery operations.  Tanner Creek also designed and installed their grid-tied solar energy system, consisting of over 300 SolarWorld PV panels, which will provide electricity in parallel with the local utility service (Pacific Power).  The PV system is installed at the Heritage growing operation in Stayton, Oregon where facilities include a 5-acre greenhouse range, 140 acres of field production and 500,000 cubic feet of cold storage.
