TANDBERG Expands Award-Winning C Series Codec Platform with New C40
New solution allows for greater scale to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes and broaden access to high-definition video from any meeting space
SINGAPORE, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Today, TANDBERG announced it added the new Codec C40 to its industry-leading C Series codec platform to allow even greater scale for high-definition video deployments. Based on the award- winning TANDBERG C90, the most advanced telepresence and collaboration codec on the market, the C40 is designed to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes and broaden access to high-quality video conferencing and telepresence from any meeting space.
Ira Weinstein, analyst and partner at Wainhouse Research, said: "Many organizations are pursuing a tiered approach to video conferencing, using a combination of immersive telepresence suites, HD video conferencing systems and unified communications solutions. The C40 fits nicely into this approach by offering an affordable standards-compliant solution that can be integrated into any conference room or meeting space and increase accessibility to existing suites and endpoints."
The C40 reflects TANDBERG's commitment to making business-quality video available to everyone by offering up to 1080p resolution, MultiSite capability, multiple microphones and audio inputs, and a full set of advanced APIs to meet the needs of integrators, all at a competitive price point. Furthermore, TANDBERG is the only vendor that supports individual transcoded MultiSite capability, which preserves video quality for all participants, unlike other systems that downgrade all call participants to the lowest common denominator.
"In the new way of working, video conferencing and telepresence deliver the greatest benefits when they are accessible to everyone," said Fredrik Halvorsen, TANDBERG CEO. "However, we recognize one size does not fit all. That is why TANDBERG continues to deliver interoperable HD solutions like the C40 so that our customers, no matter their size or resources, have the greatest flexibility and the highest quality experience possible."
With the addition of the C40, the TANDBERG C Series now includes four codecs designed to meet a range of needs. The C Series is also fully interoperable with any standards-based video conferencing or telepresence system, and unified communications platforms such as Microsoft Office Communicator.
