Talmer Bank and Trust Names Louise O'Connell as Managing Director, Internal Audit

TROY, Mich., June 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Talmer Bank and Trust, a subsidiary of Talmer Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ TLMR) announced today that it has named Louise O'Connell as Managing Director, Internal Audit.  O'Connell will be responsible for internal audit.

O'Connell joins Talmer Bank and Trust with nearly 30 years of experience in auditing.  She started her career with the U.S. General Accountability Office before moving into the banking field where she served as Michigan Region Audit Manager and Senior Vice President for ABN AMRO/LaSalle Bank.  She also served as General Auditor and Audit Director for Citizens Republic Bancorp before moving to Flagstar Bank where she was the Compliance Operations Manager.

O'Connell received her B.A. in Business Administration/Accounting from Michigan State University and her M.S.A. in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, and a Certified Corporate Compliance and Ethics Professional.

Her numerous professional affiliations include the Institute of Internal Auditors,  Institute of Certified Bankers, Financial Services Conference Board, Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
