Talking Stick Resort Kicks Off Summer With New Light Display
SALT RIVER PIMA-MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY, Ariz., June 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Talking Stick Resort celebrated the unofficial start of summer with the lighting of its hotel tower over Memorial Day weekend. The new lights are part of the latest improvements to the resort, and are designed to illuminate the ongoing growth of the Talking Stick Cultural & Entertainment District, which includes Talking Stick Resort, Talking Stick Golf Club, Salt River Fields, The Pavilions at Talking Stick, Butterfly Wonderland and Top Golf.
"The lights we installed outside of Talking Stick Resort certainly reflect the excitement going on inside the resort and casino, the leading entertainment destination in the Valley," said Ramon Martinez, Director of Public Relations for Talking Stick Resort. "With a newly renovated pool area, new outdoor concert series and fun around every corner, the start of summer seemed like an ideal time to launch these innovated lights."
The LED lights, created and installed by YESCO, have been installed in strips covering the entire front of the building. Double diffused frosted acrylic lens cover each light strip and serve not only as protection from the elements, but will also prevent the lights from disturbing guests inside the hotel.
The lights can display 16.7 million different colors, many of which cannot be discerned by the human eye. They are fully programmable and can be configured to display an infinite number of designs and messages on the building. In total there are more than 6,700 linear feet of energy efficient light strips, which equates to approximately 81,000 points of light. Each strip serves to emphasize the beauty of the building's architecture.
Prior to installation, representatives from Talking Stick Resort were diligent in their efforts to work closely with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the City of Scottsdale to ensure the new lights would not disturb local residents in any way. The lights are the second phase of an overall lighting project that included the first phase installation of the backlit Talking Stick Resort name atop the hotel tower.
