To Provide SAT Test-Prep Resources To 1,590 Florida Eleventh Grade Students
MIAMI, Oct.15, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Take Stock in Children (www.takestockinchildren.org), a non-profit organization serving Florida's low income and minority youth/scholars, is partnering with The Princeton Review (www.PrincetonReview.com), one of the nation's best-known education services companies, to provide resources for students across the state to prepare for the SAT test they'll be facing in March 2014.

The project will enable 1,590 eleventh grade students who are currently receiving mentorship and educational support from Take Stock in Children's 45 programs statewide to take The Princeton Review's online SAT-prep course. The online, interactive course gives students 20-30 hours of self-paced instruction. The course includes a comprehensive overview of the SAT, techniques to master The Princeton Review's successful strategies for taking the test, and the opportunity to take four full-length practice SATs online. Getting one's best scores on the SAT is important because SAT scores are used not only in decisions regarding admission to thousands of colleges but also in decisions regarding some college scholarships and financial aid awards.
The Princeton Review is also providing each student participating in this program a complimentary copy of the new 2014 edition of its flagship book on the SAT -- "CRACKING THE SAT." The book gives students access to five additional full-length SAT practice tests (four in the book and one more online), plus subject reviews to prepare for each section of the SAT. It is the company's most popular test-prep guidebook -- and the only test-prep guide ever to be a New York Times bestseller.
"Take Stock in Children is excited to team up with The Princeton Review to give thousands of Florida's well deserving low-income students a competitive edge on standardized testing," said Madeline Pumariega, Take Stock in Children President and CEO. "TSIC scholars plus The Princeton Review equals college-bound youth."
Said Scott Kirkpatrick, President of The Princeton Review, "We are very excited about partnering with Take Stock in Children to provide a comprehensive array of College Readiness resources for their 11th grade scholars. For 32 years, The Princeton Review has helped students achieve with a single premise: every student deserves the opportunity to go to college, and we help them get there."
