The Centre's newly established Green Product Display showcases over 26 products from 13 companies, all of which have won the prestigious Taiwan Green Classics Awards. These 26 products have been classified into five categories: Green Energy, Green Textiles and Fabrics, LED Lighting, Green Home and Office, and Solar Products.
For decades, Taiwan has been a major manufacturing and exporting country, and it has long provided the world with high-quality, environmentally friendly products. It is the Taiwan Trade Centre's mission to facilitate sustainability-focused dialogue and collaboration between Taiwan and the rest of the world. The Taiwan Green Product Display Centre is supporting this mission by showing that the growth of the global green movement has its roots planted firmly in Taiwan.
The products on display include GreenTrans' electric motor scooters or "e-bikes," which are taking the EU market by storm with their innovative yet practical design.
Lighting and LEDs also have a big presence at the display, and a variety of applications for this already well-established technology will be featured, especially since in recent years Taiwan has made leaps and bounds in this industry.
Both TYC Brother Industrial and Everlight will be showcasing the latest in LED and lighting technology for domestic, public, and commercial use. Thanks to advancements in technology, eco-options have gained even greater respect in the lighting industry.
The Green Product Display will also have exciting clothing, leisure, and storage innovations on display at the Centre, which is located at 29 Wilson Street in London.
Dr. C.K. Lu, the representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the United Kingdom, commented, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give these established and emerging Taiwanese brands a platform in the competitive UK eco-market. The green industry is no longer a 'token' choice with no viable economic positives. The green wave is growing, and Taiwan is at the crest of exciting innovations."
In addition to the display at the Centre, over 400 high-quality green products can be found online in the Taiwan Eco-Products Directory at www.greentrade.org.tw/eng/en/cp/catalog. All of the products featured in this directory have international or domestic green certificates. Aimed at encouraging green purchasing practices, the directory has been published annually since 2011 by Taiwan's Green Trade Project Office. So far, 489 eco-products and 4 eco-services from 195 Taiwanese companies have been listed. With Taiwan's strong background in manufacturing and information communication technology, Taiwanese companies are able to deliver flexibility, economy, and quality, and the Taiwan Eco-Products Directory provides an invaluable resource for international companies looking for partners that can provide customized smart, green solutions.
