Taiwan Inventor wins the Grand Prize at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) 2015
SEOUL, Korea, Nov. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA, Chairman Koo Ja-Yeol) announced on November 30 that Yang, Chi-Ta, a Taiwan inventor, won the Grand Prize at the 11th Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) 2015 with his invention, the Photoelectric Lock Structure.
SIIF 2015, sponsored by Seoul City, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and International Federation of Inventors' Association (IFIA), took place from November 26 - November 29 at COEX Hall A, Samseong-dong, where 525 unique inventions from 33 countries participated, enhancing an already prestigious international invention fair.
The Semi-Grand Prize winning inventions are: Fluid injection needle unit having an infection prevention and stick injury protection by Nightingale, Door protection apparatus for cars by Shaffengott, Composition of insulating detergent for electrical devices and facilities with power on by Kim Dal-moon, Purification apparatus for Compressed air by Lee Sang-Pil and Lighting device for bicycle by Choi Jin-Young.
Aside from its 5 Korean winners, the Semi-Grand Prize also goes to 5 international inventors including Chang, Woan-Jing, Marshall Q. Siao, Shiau, and Ming-Chuen from Taiwan, Supawadee Tubglam from Thailand and Winfriend Sturm form Germany. Along with one Grand-Prize and 10 Semi-Grand Prizes, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals and Special Awards were also presented to individual inventors and corporations from abroad.
Many notable on-line marketplaces from home and abroad were highlighted in the Buyers' Day, among which included e-Bay, Amazon, Auction, G-Market.
The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and KIPA, as the host Seoul International Invention Fair 2015 coincided with the Korea Invention Patent Exhibition 2015 and the Trademark-Design Right Exhibition 2015, so that these events' coalition efforts could bring international opportunities to share various information on intellectual property such as inventions, designs, and patents.
