WASHINGTON, March 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Neil Getnick, Chairman of the Board of Taxpayers Against Fraud (TAF) and the TAF Education Fund, announced that Robert Patten has been named Chief Executive Officer of TAF and the TAF Education Fund, effective today, March 6, 2017.
Patten comes to TAF after serving for nine years as Managing Attorney in the Medicaid Fraud Division of the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General. In that capacity, he was responsible for the evaluation, investigation and litigation of civil and criminal health care fraud cases and the coordination of state-federal and multi-state investigations. He mentored and supervised 13 Assistant Attorneys General in False Claims Practice.
Patten also served for the last eight years as the co-chair of the Global Case Committee of the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units. In that position, he was responsible for the evaluation of multi-state cases, training state law enforcement personnel, and coordination of investigations with the United States Department of Justice, United States Attorneys' Offices, the Inspector General's Office of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, and Offices of State Attorneys General nationwide. He served as team leader and principal negotiator on behalf of the states in numerous national false claims investigations and settlements.
He is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts and a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.
