The Tableau Foundation grants include financial support and free software licenses for volunteers and staff.
"We have a unique opportunity to help build the Data for Good movement and inspire people to become more involved," said Neal Myrick, Director, Corporate Social Responsibility at Tableau. "Not only are we providing them with much needed resources, but it's also an opportunity for our employees to engage in projects around the world."
Tableau Foundation has also launched the Do Good Data 2015 Viz Challenge in conjunction with the Do Good Data 2015 conference coming up April 30-May 1, 2015. People registered for the conference receive free Tableau Desktop Professional licenses and are encouraged to partner with a charity to create a visualization that helps the non-profit to see and understand their data. Contestants can also use any publicly available non-profit, government or public data to create visualizations. Winners will have the opportunity to showcase their visualization at the conference, win a $1,000 cash grant and a grant of Tableau licenses for their charity.
