LAS VEGAS, Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Tableau Software (NYSE: DATA) announced today that Tableau Online, the company's fastest growing product with over 5,000 customer accounts, is now available on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.
Tableau Online is Tableau's fully managed SaaS cloud analytics platform that delivers complete data analytics to everyone in the organization. It lets organizations of any size deploy enterprise class analytics at the speed of thought, on any device, with no infrastructure to manage. Tableau Online is a cost-effective, scalable way for organizations to enable people to connect, blend and instantly analyze live or extracted data from on premises and cloud databases such as Amazon Redshift and Teradata, applications such as Salesforce and Google Analytics, and data in spreadsheets stored in computers or online. Bringing Tableau Online to AWS will help Tableau support growing customer demand and rapidly expand to more regions.
"We're thrilled to bring our fastest growing product, Tableau Online, to AWS. This will enable us to scale to additional regions and support customers in more parts of the world more quickly while also allowing our customers to run their analytics right where their data lives," said Andrew Beers, Chief Development Officer at Tableau. "Since Amazon Redshift launched in early 2013, Tableau has had hundreds of customers doing incredible things with Tableau and Redshift. We've also made it virtually seamless to deploy Tableau Server in Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and continued building optimized connectors with the AWS data sources most important to our customers such as Amazon Aurora and Amazon EMR. Adding AWS as an option for Tableau Online customers is a natural evolution."
"We are excited that Tableau Online can now take advantage of the elasticity, flexibility and reliability of the AWS Cloud," said Anurag Gupta, Vice President, Database Services, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "We've seen tremendous customer momentum with Tableau and AWS data management services including Amazon Redshift. We are excited to continue innovating on behalf of our customers alongside Tableau."
Amazon Redshift has become the fastest growing and most popular data source used with Tableau Online, growing by almost 100 percent each year since Tableau Online first launched in July 2013.
Skyscanner, a leading global travel search site used by more than 50 million people every month, uses Tableau and Amazon Redshift daily across the entire organization to make key business decisions. "The ability to combine a flexible, scalable data architecture alongside powerful visual analytics has allowed us to build a true data-driven culture," said Mark Shilton, Principal Analyst at Skyscanner. "We're excited to see the relationship between Tableau and Amazon continue to evolve."
