T-fal® Joins with American Diabetes Association's® Movement to Stop Diabetes®
ActiFry® and T-fal non-stick cookware are proud to join the effort to educate Americans on the importance of diabetes prevention and control
WEST ORANGE, N.J., Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- T-fal, the leading manufacturer of non-stick cookware and small kitchen appliances, announced that it has joined the American Diabetes Association's Stop Diabetes® movement for 2011.
The company has donated $100,000 in support of the American Diabetes Association and its effort to communicate the benefits of eating properly to effectively prevent and control type 2 diabetes. As a national sponsor, T-fal will educate consumers about eating for their health with tips on how products, such as the ActiFry and T-fal non-stick cookware, can help reduce fat when cooking foods traditionally high in fat, and how low-fat meals can contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
"We are proud to support the American Diabetes Association's Stop Diabetes movement to help the nearly 26 million Americans who have diabetes and the millions more who are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes," said Richard Joaristi, Groupe SEB marketing director of appliances. "Our mission is to demonstrate how simple and easy it is to cook meals that are better for you and taste great. We want to motivate Americans to take preventative steps to developing this disease by educating them on nutritious and delicious cooking."
T-fal recently introduced the ActiFry, a versatile cooking appliance that helps consumers create a variety of healthy, low-fat dishes, quickly and easily. Its innovative heat pulse system and stirring paddle ensures even cooking and an even distribution of a minimal amount of oil. A recipe book, developed in-part by Ellie Krieger, MS, RD and Cooking Channel host, features recipes for main entrees and side dishes to snacks and even desserts.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the disease contributes to the deaths of more than 230,000 Americans each year. The sponsorship will help fund research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; deliver services to hundreds of communities; provide objective and credible information; and give a voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.
