New Tools and Methods to advance a human-centered design for data-rich products and services
NEW YORK, May 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- frog, the global product strategy and design firm, today announced that Richard Tyson has joined the company as Principal Strategy Director. He will lead the firm's work to humanize data and analytics for the design of connected product and service experiences. Tyson will work closely with frog's strategy, research, design, and technology teams to shape new tools and methods for understanding customer behavior, cultivating richer engagement, and driving business performance in a deeply connected world.
"frog is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for data-rich and intelligent systems that can enrich people's lives," said Tyson. "We are committed to fostering new capabilities and a network of domain-leading partners that open up new opportunities for frog and our clients to advance the human experience through better modeling, decision-support, learning, and system adaptation."
Under Tyson's direction, frog will expand its capacity to bring clients product, experience, and enterprise data strategies through new applications of modeling visualization, data science, and intelligent system design. Tyson will build this capability within frog's existing disciplines, with a dedicated focus on data and systems intelligence that informs great experiences and business value.
"Companies and organizations are looking for help to humanize and make use of the vast quantity of data generated by smart connected products and systems," said Timothy Morey, Vice President of Innovation Strategy of frog. "Richard's expertise and experience make him the perfect fit to harness the power of design to make sense of data, and to more fully integrate the potential of new data streams into our clients' products, services and experiences."
Tyson brings extensive experience in design and innovation strategies for complex, networked systems and services. As Founder and Principal of Special Project Office, a strategy design firm, Tyson led executive teams in next generation strategy and research programs. Prior to SPO, Richard was principal for design strategy at Caerus Associates, Strategy Director at Stone Yamashita Partners, and an Associate Partner at Doblin and Monitor Group (now Monitor/Deloitte). In various strategy leadership roles, he developed his expertise in innovation system design for both the public and private sector, often on the global scale. No stranger to frog, Tyson was involved in the data strategy development process for frog's work with United Nation's OCHA on the Humanitarian Data Exchange.
