System Planning Corporation Awarded Contract to Supply RCS Radar Imaging System for F-35 Lightning II Manufacturing Testing
ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 28, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- System Planning Corporation (SPC) today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company to supply an SPC MkVe Radar Cross Section (RCS) Radar Imaging System for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program. The contract also includes provisions for spare parts and equipment for long term support of the radar system.
Lockheed Martin, prime contractor for the JSF Program, will use the SPC MkVe System to provide quality assurance data pertaining to the radar signature of F-35 JSF Lightning II aircraft. The testing will occur at the F-35 Final Assembly and Checkout (FACO) facility in Cameri, Italy while the aircraft are in the manufacturing environment. The data will be used to assure the aircraft meet F-35 signature requirements.
