Sysmex America Honored Second Consecutive Year as a 'Company That Cares'
MUNDELEIN, Ill., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Sysmex America, Inc. (SAI), a leading medical diagnostic instrument manufacturer and information systems developer, today announced its selection to the 2010 Companies That Care Honor Roll, said Karen Stoneman, Vice President of Human Resources, Sysmex America, Inc. Recipients are selected for demonstrating the consistent practice of the "10 Characteristics of a Company That Cares" as defined by Center for Companies That Care. Center for Companies That Care is a national not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to recognizing employers whose values and practices enhance employee well-being and support the needs of society as well as the profitability of their businesses.
The Honor Roll is selected by an independent panel of seasoned professionals in a variety of industries. Sysmex America, like the other companies named to the list, excels in the 10 Characteristics inherent to a "Company That Cares", which include: developing employees and leaders, supporting the pursuit of work/life balance, sustaining a work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees, providing competitive compensation and benefits, and volunteering in the community.
"We are honored that Sysmex America has been recognized by Center for Companies That Care as an employer that is committed to the professional development and personal well being of its employees. We understand that our employees are our greatest asset and, as such, embrace our role as a company that cares," said Stoneman.
"We are extremely impressed that during a tough economy the Honor Roll employers – such as Sysmex America, Inc. – are doing whatever they can to sustain individuals, families, and communities. Not increasing employees' benefits costs, decreasing expenses in other areas to keep providing merit increases and recognition programs, and continuing to engage employees in community service are just a few actions these employers have taken," said Marci Koblenz, Co-founder and President of Center for Companies That Care.
Those named to the 2010 list feature U.S. organizations that are large, medium and small, public and private, for-profit and not-for-profit, in diverse industries headquartered in 18 states. A full list of recognized employers appears at www.companies-that-care.org.
The Honor Roll is announced annually in conjunction with the annual launch of CAREDAYS, a month-long national initiative to engage individuals and employers in activities addressing a significant societal issue in our communities. CAREDAYS10 supports childhood literacy by providing books to under-resourced classroom libraries.
