Synthetic Grass Warehouse Receives Congressional Recognition
SANTA ANA, Calif., Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez toured the Synthetic Grass Warehouse headquarters in Anaheim, Calif. September 22nd, 2015. She met with SGW staff to discuss water conservation as well as present SGW Co-owners Victor Lanfranco and Joe Ayoub with the Congressional recognition.
"Congresswoman Sanchez is a great supporter of the artificial grass industry," said Lanfranco. "She believes it is the smartest and safest way to conserve water."
Rep. Sanchez supports the improvement of California's water system as well as the increase of deliverable water supply in Orange County.
"Any efforts to combat California's historic drought while also boosting our economy are commendable," said Rep. Sanchez. "I'm proud to see a local Orange County business spearheading these efforts."
On September 3rd, 2015, Synthetic Grass Warehouse was recognized by Rep. Sanchez for their dedication to water conservation through inventive synthetic grass development and design as well as public education at a Water Drought Briefing and Recognition event in the city of Santa Ana, California.
"As we enter the fourth consecutive year of drought in California, it is important to keep a pulse on the current water supplies and how we can further conserve water," said Rep. Sanchez. "In Washington, I recently co-sponsored H.R. 2983, the Drought Recovery and Resilience Act of 2015 which would address innovative water financing, improving infrastructure and water management, planning for future droughts, and other important factors."
The event was open to the public where information about the current drought status was presented by a panel of water resource experts. In addition to SGW, Rep. Sanchez also acknowledged several homeowners and businesses who also took a lead in revamping their properties into drought-friendly landscapes.
"We are truly grateful to receive this award," said Lanfranco. "One of our main goals is to conserve water by investing in synthetic grass technology and innovations. Our products don't just look natural, they save each household thousands of gallons of water every year!"
About one third of water used in a typical home is dedicated to outdoor irrigation, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, which equates to 9 billion gallons of water used on a daily basis. An artificial grass lawn can save residents approximately 55 gallons of water per square foot every year. With the average American lawn size at 14,520 square feet, synthetic grass can potentially save over 78 trillion gallons of water per year nationwide.
