SHEFFIELD, England, Feb. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Synectics' gaming business continues to thrive across the globe. Adding to its extensive portfolio of gaming customers in Canada, the United States, Asia and Europe, the global surveillance solutions specialist has announced that four North American casinos are to adopt its evolved Synergy 3 command and control platform, including Massachusetts' very first gaming property.
Seneca Niagara, NY, Resorts World New York and Menominee Casino Resort in Wisconsin, are all adopting the latest evolution of Synectics' field-proven technology as part of major upgrades to their surveillance and security systems. Collectively, Synectics has over 20 years' experience working with these three gaming resorts, providing state-of-the-art high resiliency analogue and IP HD integrated surveillance solutions.
The fourth property in Synectics' 2015 Synergy 3 sweep is the new Penn National Gaming development scheduled to open outside Boston – the first casino in Massachusetts' history under the new gaming legislation.
The new Plainridge Park $225 million dollar integrated racing and gaming facility, will house 1,250 slots, a four-venue food court and an entertainment lounge, all protected by a 700-channel IP HD surveillance system monitored and controlled by Synergy 3.
Adam Heisler, Synectics' Manager of Business Development for Gaming, said: "It's always rewarding when a long-standing customer like Penn Gaming comes back to you about a new project. The arrival of gaming in Massachusetts also marks a key regional milestone, so we're proud to be part of that."
In total, 16 Penn gaming facilities in North America now use Synectics command and control, IP camera, and scalable data storage solutions.
Synergy 3 is a flexible, open platform that enables alarm, transactional, security and process control sub-systems, video, and data to be monitored, recorded and managed from a single unified operator environment. Its fully customizable GUI also enables gaming properties and their users to tailor the system to meet unique and changing needs.
Heisler said: "Surveillance solutions for the gaming market are about complex situational awareness: controlling area access, detecting safety threats, preventing fraud, limiting risk based liability, tracking POS trends and anomalies such as unauthorized refunds, monitoring concession stock and identifying patron habits to enhance customer experience. To remain profitable and competitive, casinos have to stay on top of all this information, all of the time.
"It's one of the reasons why the task-oriented, customizable Synergy 3 user interface is being received so well by the market. It supports centralized monitoring and control of integrated systems, but also allows individual departments to adjust distinctive operational settings – including workflow guides – to meet their specific requirements, whether related to security, hospitality, food and beverage, player tracking or facilities management.
"Ultimately, it meets individual departmental requirements while simultaneously ensuring that relevant information is shared by all departments for a comprehensive, multilayered security approach."
These latest Synergy 3 projects reinforce Synectics' status as a market leader in gaming surveillance systems worldwide. More than 100 gaming properties across the globe now benefit from Synectics' integrated, turnkey solutions.
