WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., May 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Syncsort, a global leader in mainframe and Big Data software, has appointed accomplished software executive David Hodgson to lead its rapidly growing mainframe business. David will apply his broad experience and deep technical knowledge to build on the strong performance and momentum of Syncsort's mainframe business unit.
As General Manager, David will leverage 23 years of experience in senior management roles at CA Technologies and Sterling Software in engineering, operations, business development, product management, technical support and professional services. His expertise spans mainframe, data management, network management and cloud.
"Our Big Iron to Big Data strategy, the tremendous success of innovative new mainframe technologies like Ironstream and ZPSaver Suite, and the successful acquisitions of Circle Group and William Data Systems have driven significant organic and inorganic revenue growth," said Josh Rogers, CEO, Syncsort. "Given his impressive experience, deep industry knowledge and track record of success, David is the perfect leader to drive our next phase of growth. I am excited to see what the mainframe business will achieve under his leadership."
"I am thrilled to join Syncsort's exceptional team and be part of their incredible success story," said David Hodgson, General Manager, Mainframe at Syncsort. "Syncsort is well known for innovation in recent years, both on mainframe and in Big Data solutions, and we have unique strengths in bridging the gaps between Big Iron and Big Data technologies. As successful as Syncsort has been, the market continues to evolve and mature, and the future opportunities are even greater. I look forward to working with my colleagues to take our mainframe business to the next level."
Founder Harvey Tessler, who oversaw Syncsort's recent mainframe innovations and significant revenue growth is retiring, and will continue as a strategic advisor to Syncsort. In this role, Harvey will be focusing on M&A efforts, business development and engagement with strategic customers and prospects.

I cannot thank Harvey enough for his contributions and leadership and am excited about him continuing his work with Syncsort in the role of strategic advisor," said Rogers. "We look forward to building on our success by focusing on the needs of our customers.
