TEMPE, Ariz., June 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Swimlane today announced it has been named a finalist by the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) in its Spring 2015 Arizona Innovation Challenge (AIC), a bi-annual business plan competition that will award up to $250,000 in capital to an Arizona business to advance innovation and technology commercialization opportunities in the state.

A panel of nine judges evaluated 138 applications for the Spring 2015 AIC round, from companies based in Arizona, California, Massachusetts, Texas and Wisconsin. Each company was assessed on a set of criteria that included technology potential, marketing strategy, quality of management team and economic impact. These companies represent high-value industry sectors that include IT Software, IT Hardware, Bio and Life Sciences, Cleantech/Renewable Energy, Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing, and Aerospace and Defense.
Swimlane was recognized in the "IT Software" category for its innovative security operations automation platform, which centralizes an organization's security alerts, alarms and incidents to ensure resolution and deliver a better ROI on current and future security investments. Swimlane reduces manual effort by automatically responding to alerts, gathering related threat intelligence and automating the implementation of security controls, all which aides in protecting an organization from future attacks.
Swimlane will conduct a live finalist presentation of its business plan and vision of security operations automation before the judges, who will determine the winner later this month.
"There are a number of companies with great ideas and technology, but to succeed you have to have the right business plan and management team to turn those ideas into a viable business," said Swimlane co-founder Cody Cornell. "To be selected as a finalist by the ACA further validates our business model, in addition to the strong interest we are generating."
