RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to consumer demand for a strong snus option, Swedish Match is launching Thunder Xtreme in the U.S., a bold new product line featuring three varieties, two flavors and two strengths.
"A strong snus alternative is the No. 1 unmet consumer demand in the snus category in the U.S.," said Joe Ackerman, Director of New Products for Swedish Match. Consumers can choose from Original, Original Strong and Red Strong varieties. Both strong options are 50 percent stronger than regular strength snus, making them the only strong snus products in the U.S. market. The cans, easily identified by premium packaging with a large "X" and subtle flair, contain 24 one-gram pouches for long-lasting enjoyment and a compartment for easy disposal.
"Snus has seen steady growth overall, but not much has changed in the category," added Ackerman. "Bringing Thunder Xtreme to the states represents the first snus innovation in five years and it positions us to own 100 percent of the strong snus category."
