SEATTLE, Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Seattle Children's has appointed Suzanne Beitel as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), effective in December. Beitel joins Seattle Children's after a 20-year history with JP Morgan, where she currently serves as executive director in the Public Finance Group in New York City. In her new role, Beitel will be responsible for financial strategies and operations at Seattle Children's.
"We are thrilled to welcome Suzanne to the Seattle Children's team," said Dr. Jeff Sperring, chief executive officer of Seattle Children's. "She is a highly accomplished and well-respected health care investment banker who has worked with many of the country's top children's hospitals, including Seattle Children's. She brings an outstanding track record of supporting academic health centers with strategic financial solutions in a dramatically changing economic environment, and she will be instrumental in leading Seattle Children's boldly into the future."
In addition to her extensive career at JP Morgan, Beitel also serves as a board member and chair of the finance committee for Stamford Health, which provides her with a strategic and governance perspective into the issues facing health systems today.
Beitel earned a bachelor's degree in managerial economics from Union College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. After earning her MBA, Beitel remained in Chicago where she joined Nuveen in health care investment banking. While there, she volunteered in the Child Life Program at a children's hospital, which started her love of children's health care.
"I am thrilled to channel my passion for advancing children's health into my role at Seattle Children's," said Beitel. "I look forward to helping navigate the evolving health care climate and driving financial initiatives that will ensure Seattle Children's can best meet the needs of the patients and families who we serve."
Beitel will assume the role in December as Seattle Children's current CFO, Kelly Wallace, retires after serving in the role for more than 20 years.
