SustainU Launches 100 Percent Recycled Clothing Line for Boy Scouts

"Americana," "Varsity Performance" and "Hiker" Jerseys Use REPREVE® Recycled Fiber and are Made in the USA

MORGANTOWN, W. Va., June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SustainU, a leading producer of apparel using fabrics made from 100 percent recycled materials that are manufactured in the USA, today announced it will be manufacturing "Americana," "Varsity Performance" and "Hiker" jerseys using REPREVE®, a 100% recycled fiber made by Unifi, for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). The jerseys represent SustainU's commitment to working with companies who are leaders in delivering environmentally conscious products and solutions.

REPREVE is made from 100 percent recycled content including used PET water bottles and pre- and post-consumer waste from manufacturing processes. By using such waste streams, less energy and fewer resources are needed to manufacture REPREVE fiber from scratch; offsetting the need to use new crude oil to produce virgin polyester and nylon.
