Susquehanna Financial Group Hires John Backus, Joseph Cary and Stuart Marra to Continue Cash Sales Trading Expansion
NEW YORK, March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Susquehanna Financial Group, LLLP (SFG), the institutional broker-dealer member of the Susquehanna International Group of Companies (SIG), announced today its hiring of John Backus, Joseph Cary and Stuart Marra to expand its New York cash sales trading effort.

Mr. Backus was most recently employed by Friedman Billings and Ramsey, where he was a top producing sales trader as well as a partner and senior managing director. Earlier in his career, Mr. Backus was a senior sales trader for both Bank of America and Putnam Lovell. Mr. Backus started his career at Citigroup and was a top producer in middle markets when he left the firm. Mr. Backus earned a BA in Business from the University of Connecticut.
Mr. Cary joins SFG from Citigroup, where he was a top producer in its cash business. Prior to Citigroup, Mr. Cary was a senior sales trader for both Bear Stearns and J.P. Morgan. Mr. Cary earned his BA in Business from Seton Hall University.
Mr. Marra has ten years of financial services industry experience, most recently as a director and North American head of special situations for Deutsche Bank. Previously, Mr. Marra was a vice president with Merrill Lynch and worked on the risk arb desk. Mr. Marra graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in Business Management and a concentration in Computer Science.
