SUSE Extends Partnership with VMware in the Cloud

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for VMware to be available for VMware vCloud Hybrid Service

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- (VMworld® 2013) -- SUSE® has extended its partnership with VMware to make SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for VMware available through VMware vCloud® Hybrid Service™. Thousands of VMware customers have already taken advantage of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for VMware, experiencing its high-performing and cost-effective solution for running virtualized Linux workloads in their data centers. Those customers will have the option when executing their cloud strategy of running their workloads on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server in the VMware vCloud Hybrid Service, giving them greater flexibility for optimizing their IT resources.

Since 2010, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for VMware has been the only enterprise Linux distribution optimized and bundled with VMware vSphere®. Its maintenance costs are included in the cost of a customer's VMware vSphere support agreement for data center deployments.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for VMware vCloud Hybrid Service will be available in the fourth quarter.
